ADELPHI ISLAND I MEADOWBROOK

On this particular job, the original kitchen cabinet order was sold to this client in 2000 when they had an addition added to their home. In 2016, the client returned to Mark IV with a wish list for the space. The list included…

  • Removal of existing wall that had a pass thru to the dining/living space
  • Designing a large island that would seat four and included: double waste pullout, wine cubes, decorative legs to support counter overhang, large drawer base, and roll-trays.
  • Matching the existing Luna Pearl granite counters
  • Installing a new granite countertop that must be installed without a seam

The challenges included:

  • The existing pass thru wall had posts that support second floor of the addition
  • There was no match to the client’s existing countertops

Solutions:

  • One of the support posts had was removed by Mark IV’s installation team. A temporary post was installed at a different location in order that the one piece of granite could be brought in on an angle and put in place.
  • Since there was not granite to match the existing countertops, a complementary black absolute granite was used
